PS4 Unboxing Video Strangely Similar to Daft Punk

Sony paid tribute to Daft Punk with their latest PS4 video!

Sony recently released an unboxing video of the upcoming Playstation 4, and man, oh man is it surprisingly similar to Daft Punk's unboxing of their latest album, Random Access Memories

You can watch them side-by-side here (thanks YouTube Doubler!)

Did Sony ask permission? Did they need to? Who cares (well I'm sure Daft Punk does)!

In a tweet from Sony Executive, Shuhei Yoshida strongly implies the similarities were intentional.

What is  interesting is that the PS4 will include a voucher for Playstation Plus while supplies last. For those of you that don't know, Sony is pulling a Microsoft and requiring a paid subscription for online play.

Also included in the box is a Quickstart Guide, Dual Shock 4 controller, and HDMI cable!

The PS4 is due out November 15th for $399, but if you haven't preordered it already, you may have a hard time finding them in stock.

Wow. I was expecting it to be somewhat similar with a vague connection but those opening pieces are direct copies of each other.

Clearly the same person was hired for both and just got lazy, because it is so obvious.

They clearly used the same film set to create the PS4 unboxing video. Good for them! It actually suits Sony's new console. The PS4 has its blue light bar and move sensor built into the hardware which are certainly very Tron-esque looking which is not a bad thing at all! I love LED lights on things, it just makes them more pretty and appealing.
