Raiden Joins Mortal Kombat X Cast

The Thunder God is back

Since being announced last month before E3, details on Mortal Kombat X continue to surface at a refreshingly quick pace. NetherRealm Studios announced on Saturday via their Twitch that Raiden would be joining the cast of the series’ tenth installment.

The announcement was received with much excitement but little surprise. In addition to being a franchise staple since the first installment back in 1992, the studio had dropped a number of hints that The Thunder God might be the character revealed in today’s announcement.

Raiden joins fellow series mainstays Sub-Zero and Scorpion, along with four characters that are new to the series: Cassie Cage, D’Vorah, Kotal Hahn, and a hybrid character, Torr & Ferra.

The game, which is being published by Warner Bros., is slated for a 2015 release, and is being developed for Windows, XBOX One, and PS4; a third party developer will release versions for both XBOX 360 and PS3 at a later date.
