A Link Between Worlds Entering the Eastern Palace In-Depth

After sitting through the cinematic at the end of your visit in Sanctuary, the story will continue with Link waking up in his bed. Ravio, the being in the strange hat, picked you up and took you to an empty building that just happened to be your home. He gives you a bracelet and recommends you go to Hyrule Castle.

Go to Hyrule Castle and go through the gate. Unlike last time, there is no guard in front of it. Instead, the guards are in the courtyard. Talk to the one nearest the castle entrance.

The guard will be skeptical of your story, but Impa knows what’s up. She comes out to get you. You wait in the castle’s entrance. This gives you a bit of time to look at the photos that tell the story of A Link to the Past, the game that A Link Between Worlds is a sequel to (or a spiritual sequel; you know how these Zelda games work).

Zelda listens to your advice and suggests you visit Sahasrahla in Kakariko Village. Before you part ways, she gives you a special charm. Who cares if the other boys are going to make fun of you for wearing jewelry? It’s a gift from Zelda and you’re going to wear it!

Before heading to Kakariko Village, take a look around the castle to find some hidden treasures. You can open two chests for rupees and outside of the castle, on the eastern side, you will find a heart container. Unfortunately, you haven’t gotten far enough in A Link Between Worlds to get this yet, but remember its place to come back to once you have the ability to lift rocks.

On the northern outskirts of Kakariko Village is a fortune teller’s building. Go inside and speak with the owner. You will receive Hint Glasses to use if you get stuck in the game.

Go into Kakariko and go up the stairs on the left side of the screen. Go around those buildings and head to the front of the one on the right. Take the right door and speak to Sahasrahla.

He will reveal to you that Seres is a descendant of one of the Seven Sages, as well as his assistant Osfala. He asks you to find Osfala in the Eastern Palace.

Explore the village before taking off. I recommend buying an Empty Bottle then going to the Milk Bar and filling it with Milk. You should also stop by the Beeman’s house to get the Net to catch bees for him with. There is also a place to play a guessing game to win rupees at.

Most importantly, be sure to go near the center of the village where the weather vane is to save the game.

Follow your map until you get to the place where the X is near the Eastern Palace. You will come across this bit of land. You cannot solve this puzzle yet. Do not leave, however. Read the sign and then go back home. Ravio‘s got some explaining to do.

Ravio will talk to you about the advertisements. He will then rent out his bow to you. Follow the instructions on equipping and using the bow then head back to the same area you were at before.

Shoot the orbs to open up the door. Explore the area a bit and you will find a chest with a red rupee in it. Follow your map to get to the X. You will meet Osfala. He will talk about how he doesn’t really need any help since he’s a descendant of the Seven Sages. He’ll go back inside the Eastern Palace. Save at the weather vane then follow him in.
