The Ability Scorecast's very first episode is now live!

Wait, what? A podcast presented to us out of the open and generous arms of GameSkinny? Didn’t they stop making those?

Well… they did. We didn’t; we just started.

Welcome to the Ability Scorecast; this is your lovely host, Autumn Fish! Joining me on the air are my wonderful co-hosts, Pierre Fouquet and Kathryn Baker. With hosts like this, it’s no wonder 8/10 cats prefer the Ability Scorecast over the leading brand of cat-nip.

The first episode of the Ability Scorecast can be found on our website: AbilityScorecast.com

What is an Ability Score?

An Ability Score is a term coined for tabletop Dungeons and Dragons, often used to reference a characters prowess in combat. Any RPG fan should know exactly what I’m talking about, as an Ability Score references your character’s stat or attribute points. For example–values representing your Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Wisdom make up an Ability Score.

What is the Ability Scorecast?

Why should you listen to us? Well, we have a Character Card. Can any other podcast say that? I didn’t think so.

Our character card is rather special; it effectively keeps track of how many Casts we have recorded.

Ability Scorecast WarriorOur total level is directly represented by our regular, bi-weekly podcast. Since we just completed our first podcast last weekend, we finally reached Level 1.

However, just because we leveled up doesn’t mean we get to distributes new stat points. Our stats increase as we complete “mini-casts” based off of a specific character attribute.

What do the Attributes represent?

We currently have 7 attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, Luck, and Endurance.

  • Strength – The gaming industry is showing off their muscles again. How strong are they presented? Who have we got our eyes on?
  • Dexterity – Games can require a great deal of skill to complete. We talk about the challenges that games present to us, and offer up some tips to help newer players.
  • Constitution – These games have a tendency of sucking the life force out of us. We have put hundreds of hours into them, and love them deeply. We would just like to share.
  • Intelligence – We analyze not only games but game trailers to try to piece together whole pictures of one great mystery.
  • Wisdom – We’ve experienced plenty of things in the gaming industry, and need a place to discuss them. (Warning: Controversial topics tend to appear here.)
  • Luck – A lucky roll of the dice. Autumn teaches these noobs how to play tabletop Dungeons and Dragons [2.5E].
  • Endurance – We all love playing games. This is a rare, long-running gaming stream of pretty much whatever we want to play. All fun; all nonsense.

Where can I find the Ability Scorecast?

We have our own website, as displayed above.

Our bi-weekly podcast can be found and downloaded through iTunes. Mini-casts will be exclusive to our website, so we aren’t cluttering iTunes with too many stat-casts. Don’t worry, we’ll go over all the developments of the mini-casts in our bi-weekly feature.
