Driveclub Developers Offer Free DLC as Apology for Online Feature Set Problems
Driveclub's release has been a pretty rough experience with the all the server issues and crashes.
But for everyone who has bought the game, good news. Evolution Studios are going to be releasing two free premium DLC packs, these are The Ignition Expansion Pack and Photo-Finish Tour Pack.
There was some speculation that some free content would be given when Twitter user @pauldshelley directly tweeted Driveclubs Design Director Paul Rustchynsky.
Rustchynsky gave the vague response of:
"We're considering all of our options right now."
What will the DLC include?
The two premium DLC packs were originally going to be released for users to buy, and to Season Pass holders, however now this is not the case. Also going to be released along side this DLC are two livery packs. Combined, the DLC will be giving players five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items, this is for both online and offline.
First Player Requested Feature Update
On Tuesday (18th November) Driveclub will also see a new game update, this will include some features players have requested, which are are:
- A Photo Mode which will allow you to share your most thrilling moments with your friends
- Improved multiplayer collision physics to reduce frustrating spin-outs
- Adjustments to soften the corner cutting penalty system
- Options in the club menu to view everything your club has unlocked
- A fix to allow all club owners to update their club badges
Additionally in the update, tracks which were announced in September are making their way to Driveclub, these are:
- India – Yedepalli
- Scotland – Wester Ross
- Chile – Los Pelambres

Season Pass and PS Plus
Players who have purchased the Season Pass will not be getting less content, Evolution Studios have said:
The Season Pass will be extended to include four extra packs in July 2015 to ensure players who purchased the pass get everything that was promised. So on top of the free DLC in November, the Season Pass will still include 38 cars, 176 tour events and 80 unique liveries.
And commenting on the PS Plus Edition of Driveclub:
Although currently we do not have an update regarding the timing for the launch of the PS Plus Edition, we are continually working on improving the server capacity to enable us to launch the PS Plus Edition as quickly as possible.
The free DLC packs, The Ignition Expansion Pack and the Photo-Finish Tour Pack are expected to come out on 25th November in North America, 26th November in Europe and the 27th November in Japan.
