Splatoon is all about the multiplayer, but there is also a single-player campaign called Octo Valley. It looks like some work went into making it as well, it has 27 levels and 5 boss fights. However, the main draw in playing Octo Valley is unlocking unique weapons and gear.

The amiibo challenges involve playing levels in Octo Valley with specific rules. I’ll go over all the rewards you get for playing Octo Valley and the amiibo challenges and how you get them.

This guide will cover all the rewards for playing single-player including:

  • Octo Valley – Each unlock and how to get them.
  • Amiibo Challenges – All 3 amiibo types, their challenges and what you unlock.

Octo Valley

There are 5 bosses in Octo Valley and each boss gives you a weapon blueprint. Go to the weapons shop in Inkopolis to unlock the weapon.

  • You must buy the weapon after you unlock it.
  • Your level must be high enough before you can buy the weapon.
  • You must complete multiple levels in each area to unlock the boss for that area.
Custom Splattershot Jr

  • Must be level 2 to buy. Costs 800.
  • Defeat the first boss, Octostomp.
  • Sub-weapon – Disruptor
  • Special – Echolocator
Kelp Splat Charger
  • Must be level 4 to buy. Costs 2,500.
  • Defeat the second boss, Octonozzle.
  • Sub-weapon – Sprinkler
  • Special – Killer Wail
Aerospray MG
  • Must be level 7 to buy. Costs 4,500.
  • Defeat the third boss boss, Octowhirl.
  • Sub-weapon – Seeker
  • Special – Inkzooka
New Squiffer
  • Must be level 11 to buy. Costs 4,500.
  • Defeat the fourth boss, Octomaw.
  • Sub-weapon – Ink Mine
  • Special – Inkzooka
Aerospray RG

  • Must be level 13 to buy. Costs 16,800.
  • Defeat the third boss, Octowhirl.
  • Sub-weapon – Ink Mine
  • Special – Ink Strike
Dynamo Roller
  • Must be level 15 to buy. Costs 7,900.
  • Defeat the final boss, Octobot King.
  • Sub-weapon – Sprinkler
  • Special – Echolocator
Gold Dynamo Roller
  • Must be level 20 to buy. Costs 25,000.
  • Defeat the final boss, Octobot King.
  • Sub-weapon – Splat Bomb
  • Special – Ink Strike
Hero Replica Set
  • Defeat the final boss, Octobot King.
  • You get 3 pieces of gear: headgear, clothing, and shoes. 
  • This is a replica of what you wear during Octo Valley.
Octoling Set
  • Defeat the final boss, Octobot King.
  • You get 3 pieces of gear: headgear, clothing, and shoes. 
  • This is a replica of what the Octolings wear in some Octo Valley missions.

Amiibo Challenges

There are 3 amiibo for Splatoon, Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, and Inkling Squid.

  • Each of them have 5 sets of challenges that unlock rewards for the game. 
  • Each challenge set involves completing 3 levels with certain restrictions, then a boss.
  • You must complete the levels in Octo Valley before you can do the amiibo challenges.
  • You don’t have to buy the gear you get from the challenges, you’ll get it automatically.
  • Each piece of gear has 3 ability slots.
  • You also get money for completing the challenges and they are repeatable. You get less money when doing them again.
  • The weapons you get are just different skins of normal weapons, the stats, sub-weapon, and special are the same.
Inkling Girl

The Inkling Girl amiibo requires you to complete challenges using the Splat Charger as your main weapon.

  • First Challenge Set – Squid Hairclip (Headgear)
  • Second Challenge Set – School Uniform (Clothing)
  • Third Challenge Set – School Shoes (Shoes)
  • Fourth Challenge Set – Squidball mini-game
  • Final challenge Set – Hero Splat Charger Replica
Inkling Boy

The Inkling Boy amiibo requires you to complete challenges using the Roller as your main weapon.

  • First Challenge Set – Samurai Helmet (Headgear)
  • Second Challenge Set – Samurai Jacket (Clothing)
  • Third Challenge Set – Samurai Shoes (Shoes)
  • Fourth Challenge Set – Squid Racer mini-game
  • Final challenge Set – Hero Roller Replica
Inkling Squid

The Inkling Squid amiibo has 2 types of challenges. A time limit as a Kraken and limited ink challenges.

  • First Challenge Set – Power Mask (Headgear)
  • Second Challenge Set – Power Armor (Clothing)
  • Third Challenge Set – Power Boots (Shoes)
  • Fourth Challenge Set – Squid Beatz mini-game
  • Final challenge Set – Hero Shot Replica
