Wii U Players Can’t Join a Clan on Ghosts

Wii U players might be missing out on the multiplayer experience Call of Duty: Ghosts is introducing to other platforms.

Excited for the November 5th release of Call of Duty: Ghosts? Well, if you’re a Wii U player, I have some bad news. In the official FAQ for the game regarding the Clans in Call of Duty: Ghosts, the following platforms the FAQ states the Clan will be implemented across include: Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.  As you can tell, the Wii U is missing from this list.

What is the Clan anyway?

Clans are a fundamental part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer experience. With the new release, the game introduces something called the Call of Duty Wars experience game and a cross-platform Clan. This cross-platform Clan allows players to join a Clan with friends regardless of which platform they are playing on.  This means that gamers playing on Xbox, PlayStation, or Windows PC can join.

Through the Clan, players will be able to level-up their Clan and earn multiplayer XP and exclusive unlocks.

Why is it missing?

According to Damien McFerran, writer for NintendoLife, when Activision’s Dan Amrich was asked, he said that there’s no real explanation why the Wii U was omitted from the Clan party. With this said all we can do is wait until we are revealed with exactly why the platform is missing.

Amrich’s response was pretty vague to say the least, so I speculate that it was most likely an accidental omission from the FAQ; however, it could really be that the Wii U platform truly won’t have access to the Clan Party.

If you’re a Wii U player: is the Clan party system something you’ll be missing anyway?
