Minecraft Xbox One Edition Arrives In Stores November 18th

Microsoft brings Minecraft: Xbox One Edition to retailers this November.

On November 18th of this year, Microsoft plans to give players another way to get their hands on Minecraft. They will be selling Minecraft Xbox One Edition on a disc in stores. This is great news for people who don’t want to buy the game digitally. However, if you happen to own Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, you can upgrade to the Xbox One digital version for only $4.99. Luckily you can bring over your worlds from Xbox 360 and most downloadable content to the new Xbox One version. You will also be able to enjoy the new worlds that are 36 times larger than the Xbox 360 version.

This is all fantastic news, but slightly disheartening. With the hardware of the Xbox One, the worlds are still a finite area. Minecraft: Pocket Edition has infinite worlds and runs on weaker hardware. Maybe Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be able to patch infinite worlds later in life, but for now I can’t shake off the feeling of being trapped when playing Minecraft on Xbox.
