Borderlands 2 Prequel May Be In The Works

Can a Borderlands 2 Prequel really be in the works for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for a 2014 release?

According to a new report claimed by GamePointsNow.com, there is a Borderlands 2 Prequel due out for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The game is set between the events of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2. 2K Australia is said to be handling development duties alongside Gearbox Software.

The story will revolve around a younger Handsome Jack who is after the powerful alien artifact. You play as one of four of Jack’s lieutenants: Athena The Gladiator (who we met in General Knoxx), Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer, and Fragtrap, a militarized claptrap. The games takes place on the moon of Elpis and Hyperion’s H-shaped base, which could be seen in Borderlands 2 from Pandora.

There will be a new class of weapon called The Cryo and low gravity for the jetpacks that help you get around. It is also said that Oxygen will be important as you must loot it and manage your supply to stay alive.

No mention of Xbox One or PS4, so will there be a 2014 release? We do not know yet. Gearbox Software is known to surprise, so with Pax East 2014 this weekend, attendees may be in for quite the surprise.
