The Witness gets release date via new trailer

Can we expect The Witness to garner as much critical praise as Braid?

Adding to the slew of new trailers and release dates coming this week is one of the original intended titles for the PlayStation 4: The Witness. The puzzle adventure game has peeked out from the shadows several times of the last several year, but today we finally get a release date of January 26, 2016.

After the unanimous critical acclaim of Braid, developer Jonathan Blow has been full steam ahead on The Witness. Slyly revealing the first iteration of the game at PAX Prime 2010, Blow focused on getting his game to as many consoles as possible including the still relevant Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. However, as the release comes almost six years later than his initial reveal, Thekla, Inc. has conceded to a simultaneous release on both Windows and PlayStation 4 with a Xbox One release further down the road.

“Its’s okay for people to get stuck” – Jonathan Blow

With Braid still considered one of the greatest puzzle-solving games of all time, how will you approach this new adventure? Will you play on PC, PlayStation 4, or wait for the Xbox release? Let us know in the comment section below.
