Super Smash Bros. For Wii U and Amiibo Figurines Launch Together November 21

With Super Smash Bros for 3DS selling off shelves, Nintendo announces that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Amiibo will have the same launch date.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is selling strong. With the game now released across the world, Nintendo is reporting 2.8 million units sold worldwide. This isn’t the end of Super Smash Bros in the news. Nintendo has made it official that November 21st, both Super Smash Bros for Wii U and the first wave of Amiibo figures will be available.

Among the first wave of figures we can expect to see Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, and Marth. These programmable figures will sell at a $12.99 MSRP.

These figures bring an interesting new dimension to the Smash Bros. world. Not only will you get a new decorative piece that shows off your favorite character on your mantle, but you will also be able to create a much more powerful opponent. As of now in the 3DS version of the game, the max level the computer can be in difficulty is 9. The Amiibo can be programmed and trained to reach a maximum level of 50. It’s hard to fathom that we will get programmed opponents that can be over 5x stronger than what the maximum difficulty is now. Here’s to hoping they will still be beatable.
