In a world where an abundance of websites offer community support and funding for any up-and-coming’s innovative ideas, there’s a new contender on the playing field.
Prefundia, a new crowdfunding platform, has appeared next to known sites such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo. However, the central question remains– “What makes this website different from any of its competitors?”
Another Crowdfunding Site? Oh, Wait
The answer, a Prefundia press release states, is that this site is not out to challenge Kickstarter or IndieGoGo. Instead, Prefundia offers extra advertising for your existing projects, while directing viewers to your coexisting Kickstarter page.

As the website’s homepage states: “Welcome to the world’s ‘coming soon’ platform.”
I Already Have A Kickstarter Project; Why Do I Need Prefundia?
The first reason is simple: money. The Kickstarter model suggests that it will seize approximately 5% of all funds raised for each project. Additionally, Amazon charges 3-5% for community donations.
Prefundia is an 100% free outlet to receive constructive feedback, questions, and address concerns in an effort to expose the legitimacy of the future project.
Hopeful inventors can asses the likelihood of a successful campaign before taking the plunge on larger sister sites. A stepping stone, of sorts.

It Sounds Good, But Does Prefundia Actually Work?
Project results using Prefundia seem to vary substantially. Some facts were stated in an original press release:
Over $14 Million have been generated by Prefundia alumni. Prefundia has been highly influential in helping project creators gain the fan base necessary to run a successful crowdfunding project on Kickstarter or Indiegogo.
Prefundia.com and their hosted projects have been featured in countless media platforms such as TechCrunch, Entreprenuer, and Mashable. Featuring the newest and most innovative games on Prefundia will game creators and game buyers alike.
However, when you look through the Kickstarter forums, you see some different results. One member asks:
Anyone using Prefundia.com? So far our count is 6 followers from Prefundia… Our best traffic is from #1, Twitter, and #2 Facebook.
If Twitter and Facebook are providing more results than Prefundia, it doesn’t seem to be a very productive use of project leader’s time.

Contrary to the previous paragraph, TechCrunch, Mashable, Entrepreneur, and various other well-known websites have praised Prefundia as a method of “Gathering Your Tribe Before You Launch.”

While some members have complained about the uselessness of Prefundia in the past, it seems that the longer the site has been around, the more attention it’s been receiving.
