Rockstar In Trouble With Rapper Over GTA V Song Use

Looks like RockStar might be in a pickle if Daz Dillinger doesn't get his way.

Rockstar was served a cease and desist letter by rapper Daz Dillinger, over two songs featured in GTA V, reported by TMZ.

The TMZ report makes me giggle, but it seems to be true. The rapper claims that the creators of Grand Theft Auto V tried to “lowball” the rapper and then not pay him for the use of his beats in their game.

The songs “C-Walk” and “Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit” were used in the game even though Dillinger refused the company’s original offer claiming the deal was an “offensively low offer of $4,271.00 for both songs.”

One of the songs, “Nothin’ But the Cavi Hit,” was created by Dillinger’s former group, the legendary Dogg Pound.

The demands? Dillinger says to make him a better offer or–hold your breath guys–recall and destroy all unsold copies of GTA V. Now that seems a little steep for two songs. And let’s just think of the repercussions of recalling one of the most popular games of the year.

The rapper states that his lawyers are giving Rockstar 14 days to comply or make a deal. Dillinger states that this is about “respecting an artist’s work. Rockstar didn’t do that here and I can’t let them get away with it.”

What do you guys think will happen in the upcoming weeks? Think Rockstar will pay off Dillinger? I doubt they will take the game off the market so where do you think this case will go?
