Titanfall Tips Straight From Respawn

Titanfall is almost here. See what tips the developers want you to know!

Titanfall. I haven’t seen this much excitement for a first-person shooter since Modern Warfare 2 back in 2009. All of us are waiting anxiously to play the brand new shooter from Respawn Entertainment, the studio which is made up of developers who brought Call of Duty into this world.  The cool thing is that we won’t have to wait much longer, given the beta this weekend–and the game releases in less than a month.

So let’s get this party started!

I was scouring the internet and found this gem this morning. It is a video straight from the Respawn devs giving some useful tips for all of us newbies getting into Titanfall for the first time.

There’s some great advice in the video, but there is one thing that the devs said that I want to stress.

You have to remember to keep moving. Not just moving, but moving up. The game is constructed in a way that you need to realize there is a Z-axis of movement. If you play this game like you play COD, you will die rather quickly. You need to use height to your advantage, especially when Titans arrive on the battlefield.

If you don’t have time to practice this in the beta, the best advice I can give is to practice your jet packing skills in games like Tribes: Ascend or Planetside 2. Sure, the controls and feel of the jetpack won’t be the same. You may even feel a bit unprepared come launch. However, if you are someone who only plays COD, Battlefield, or any other modern military shooter, you need to take time to learn about infantry with jetpacks and what that means in a virtual warzone. You will have a huge advantage if you take a few minutes to learn these skills when Titanfall finally launches.

Titanfall releases for the Xbox One and PC March 11th and the Xbox 360 March 25th
