No Metal Gear Solid 1&2 Remake in the Works

Hideo Kojima comments on possible Metal Gear Solid remakes.

Hideo Kojima, brainchild of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, has been busy squelching rumors today via Twitter. Apparently, the rumor mill churned out news that Kojima Productions was working on a full remake of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2. In a recent post on twitter Kojima stated:

“There’s a rumor about remaking MGS1+2, but that’s not tru. It has been modified in the thread or something.”

Straight from the horse’s mouth; There will not be an official Metal Gear Solid 1 or 2 remake any time soon…from Kojima Productions that is. Kojima went on to say:

“I wouldn’t mind if talented creator from outside studio making this happen. That’s what I answered during the itw.”

Well, well, well, those are some interesting words! Is Mr. Kojima implying that some third party team may be remaking Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2? Probably not, but it is very interesting to note that Kojima would allow an outside studio to tinker with one of his beloved creations. Kojima is famous for being a perfectionist when it comes to the development of his games, so even implying that another studio could handle a remake is pretty big news in itself.

What about you?

Are you crushed to know that there will not be a Kojima Productions Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2? Do you think we’ll be seeing remakes of these two famous titles any time soon?

As always,
