Primal Carnage: Extinction on PS4 gets a release date

Primal Carnage: Extinction is one of the more unique class-based multiplayer shooters out there, as it pits humans against dinosaurs in epic online battles of up to 16 players. With five different types of classes for each side, there are plenty of different gameplay opportunities for this budget title.

In terms of modes, the game doesn’t really try to break the mold, but that’s not its purpose.

“The game is no-frills, jump-in-and-have-fun PS4 multiplayer mayhem”, says developer Adam Creighton, and the trailer above is indicative of just that.

Originally, Primal Carnage released on Steam in 2012 as an Early Access title without the moniker Extinction. It was originally planned that a single-player narratively driven game within the same universe titled Primal Carnage: Genesis would follow up the original game. Unfortunately, the project proved to be “too large in scope” for the company to pursue, so it was shelved.

However, there is still a chance for Genesis to happen, but it largely depends on the success (or failure) of Primal Carnage: Extinction.
