TwitchCon 2016 gives back to the Twitch cosplay community with a massive contest.

Twitch, the head honcho of video game streaming, announced recently that it will be hosting a cosplay contest. The Twitch team says that cosplay has always been important to Twitch, with streams dedicating time to showing off costumes or walking viewers through the process of making the outfits — and they want to celebrate this culture with this massive prize pool of $63,000 for their contest.

In order to enter, you need to show your costume construction process on Twitch Creative, streaming it to viewers as you go through it. You also need to tag it with #CosplayContest and produce at least fifteen hours of content. Finally, you need to be a citizen of the United States of America or Canada (excluding Quebec). This content needs to be generated by August 22nd, 2016.

Most of the finalists will be selected by Twitch and its affiliates, though four of the twenty slots will be open to a community vote that will run from August 26-29. The twenty finalists will be given $1,500 each to travel to TwitchCon 2016. There they will get the opportunity to show off their creations, while being judged by popular cosplayers such as Yaya Han and Commander Holly,  streaming personality GiantWaffle, as well as other individuals yet to be announced.

There will be four categories of the competition — Needlework, Armor, FX, and Larger than Life, with an overall winner being chosen as well. Winners will be announced after the finalists get to show off on October 1st on the Kappa Stage at Twitchcon 2016.
