The Real Nerdvana
A lot of people are now familiar with the mansion Nerdvana from reality show King of the Nerds. It is a massive estate filled to the brim with nerd culture cliches that appeal to just about every type of nerd, gamer, and geek out there. However, there was something off about the mansion’s TV appearance; it just never felt “real”. So, I want to shed light on what a real Nerdvana looks like.
Evil Geniuses is a very notorious professional gaming team that holds tournament titles in Starcraft 2 and League of Legends. Both segments of the team have gaming houses built purely for practicing their craft. Today I am highlighting the Starcraft team of Evil Geniuses via their video, which was posted a fair bit ago. The video may be a little old, but I feel it provides a really great look into what gamers can expect if they go pro and make it big.
The house was purchased through sponsor money, gained primarily from Monster Energy Drinks, and acts as a Fortress of Solitude for the gamers training for their next big tournaments. The League of Legends segment of Evil Geniuses, it is said, has a house easily comparable where their training and extensive hours of live streaming takes place. Both of these houses are immense and more extravagant than many American homes to date. These houses truly are a testament to how professional gaming is becoming a legitimate career. A career which honestly is about as achievable as becoming an NBA star or a Pop legend.
I will be writing longer and more in depth articles on all aspects professional gaming culture soon, however I just wanted to provide a quick look at the luxurious life of professional gaming.
