Invites are out

PlayStation Now director Peter Jamshidi has revealed that Sony sent out invites to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners yesterday. This coincides with the beta branching out to the PS4. Jamshidi stated:

“We sent out a batch of PS4 invites today, but there was a batch of PS3 codes that also went out. Please make sure you carefully read your email before entering your codes. The PS3 code only works on PS3s, same for PS4.”

He continues:

“A bunch of new codes went out today, but we are still sending out both PS3 codes to many as well as the new PS4 codes, so read your email carefully to ensure which platform the code you got applies to. For those with only a PS3 code currently, but own both a PS3 and a PS4 console, please be patient. We will follow-up with PS4 codes in the coming weeks. Most of all, enjoy and remember to give feedback on the Private Beta forums.”

The official PlayStation Now support page adds more.

Invites for the PS3 beta will only work on the PS3, while PS4 invites will only work for the PS4. Those that are participating in the beta on the PS3 will need a new code to download the PS4 version of the beta. Sony is planning to get PS4 codes out to those with PS3 beta keys, but have no information on how soon it will happen.

It seems tha beta now has more titles to try out. Games include Dead Island: Riptide, Legasista, Mx vs ATV Alive, Poker Night 2, and more.

I was hoping that I would be able to get beta access to PlayStation Now.

I wanted to try it out before it went live. I am glad that Sony is bringing backwards compatibility to the PS4. What worries me is the price. I am hoping that it does not cost an arm and a leg to play older games. We will just have to wait and see when PlayStation Now releases later this year.
