Dragon’s Prophet Correspondent Prizing
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Some restrictions apply. One qualifier per household. You need not be present to win.
The contest: From 05/17/2013 through 06/15/2013, GameSkinny (a product of Guild Launch, LLC) will promote, by means of the Dragon’s Prophet Correspondent pages located at gameskinny.com the opportunity to submit entries to win prizes as detailed below. Twitter, Facebook and news website advertising may also be used to promote the contest beginning 05/17/2013 through 06/15/2013.
Eligibility: Anyone can participate. Open only to permanent, legal U.S. residents who are physically residing in one (1) of the forty-eight (48) continental United States or the District of Columbia (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands and other United States territories). To be eligible to win, visitors must have a verified GameSkinny account, be eligible to participate in their country of residence. The email you register with must be valid so that we can contact you if you win. Any individuals (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors, and interns) who have, within the past six months, performed services for Guild Launch, LLC, Sony Online Entertainment, or any organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the contest or supplying the prize, and/or their respective parent, subsidiary, affiliated and successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter. “Immediate family members” shall mean parents, stepparents, children, stepchildren, siblings, stepsiblings, or spouses. “Household members” shall mean people who share the same residence at least three months in one calendar year.
Prizes: 2 winners will receive: Airfare, hotel accommodations and 1 all access pass to attend SOE Live in Las Vegas August 1-4, 2013. Approximate retail value (ARV) of the airfare is $569.60. Airfare shall be limited to a single round trip ticket from the nearest international airport to winner’s home address to airport located nearest to the SOE Live event. Approximate retail value (ARV) of the hotel accommodation is 337.00. Approximate retail value (ARV) of SOE Live ticket is $149.00. Winners will be offered a 12 month contract for a paid column on Dragon’s Prophet to be published on GameSkinny, with cash compensation value of $50 per month per individual, a total value of $600 per individual. Guild Launch, LLC reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to award a substitute Prize of equal or greater value if the Prizes described in these Official Rules are unavailable or cannot be awarded, in whole or in part, for any reason. The ARV of the prize represents Guild Launch, LLC’s good faith determination. That determination is final and binding and cannot be appealed. If the actual value of the Prize turns out to be less than the stated ARV, the difference will not be awarded in cash. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Guild Launch, LLC will not replace any lost or stolen items.
How to enter: Create a post on GameSkinny that is 300 words or less describing why you should be selected as the GameSkinny Official Dragon’s Prophet Correspondent using the ‘Post Now’ button located throughout GameSkinny.com or any of the direct post buttons from contest related pages. Entries should use the game tag for Dragon’s Prophet, as well as adding the tag “Contest Entry” to their submissions. GameSkinny will make a good-faith effort to locate any entries not using those tags, but cannot guarantee they will be viewed and considered inside the timelines set forth in the contest rules.
How to Win: After entries close on 06/15/2013, GameSkinny staff members will read through all submitted entries and select a top 10 group. We will email the top 10 entrants for follow up information to assist in determining the winners, which may include but is not limited to: Phone calls, additional writing sample requests, and remote interviews. GameSkinny staff will then select winners. Winners will be contacted via email. The winners will have 3 days to respond. If no response is received than the prize will be awarded to the first alternate. In the event that an original winner does not meet Official Rules or eligibility requirements, or he/she or parent or legal guardian forfeits the prize, Guild Launch, LLC will award prize to first alternate. Process will continue until the prize is awarded. Winners will be publicly announced on GameSkinny following a successful selection process, in advance of the SOE Live event.
Release: By receipt of any prize, winners agree to release and hold harmless Guild Launch LLC and Sony Online Entertainment and any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in the contest constitutes winners’ consent to Sony Online Entertainment and any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives use of winners’, name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration. Except where prohibited, participation in the contest constitutes winners’ consent to Guild Launch, LLC and any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates and its employees, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and representatives use of winners’, name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the contest or the processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
Taxes: Winners shall be solely responsible for all federal, state, local and or other applicable taxes, licenses, title and/or registration fees or others costs, associated with winning a prize. The Released Parties shall not be responsible for any such taxes, fees and costs.
