Tradecraft class quests are generally not that big of a deal in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, but they can be a pain if you if you’re rushing to level and have to go back and take care of your tradecraft quests all at once.

The overall goal of this and the other tradecraft class quest guides is to give those of you leveling some idea of what to do ahead of time (and know what gear is to come), or for those of you (like me) who rush your tradecrafts and go back and do the class quests later.
There are three particular things to note here:
- Every quest sans your level 1 has a monetary optional reward instead of gear. These amounts are not listed.
- The required items for the quests between 1 and 15 can be purchased at either a guild supplier or tradecraft vendor. It’s up to you whether you want to craft or purchase the requested item.
- The optional rewards are the same among every tradecraft. For example, the level 10 Carpenter quest offers the same rewards as the level 10 Culinarian quest and so on. This does not apply to level 50 quests.
Level 1 – My First Needle
Requires: 1 Hempen Yarn
Hempen Yarn components: 1 Lightning Shard, 2 Moko Grass
Reward: 150 Lightning Shard, 100 Wind Shard, 40 Moko Grass, 1 Hempen Kurta
Level 5 – Once More unto the Breeches
Requires: 3 Hempen Breeches
Hempen Breeches components: 1 Wind Shard, 1 Lightning Shard, 1 Leather, 2 Undyed Hempen Cloth, 1 Hempen Yarn
Reward: 200 Lightning Shard, 150 Wind Shard, Amateur’s Spinning Wheel
Optional reward: Hempen Bandana, Hempen Chausses, Maple Pattens
Level 10 – Alternative Applications
Requires: 12 Undyed Hempen Cloth
Undyed Hempen Cloth components: 1 Lightning Shard, 2 Hempen Yarn
Reward: 250 Lightning Shard, 200 Wind Shard, Copper Needle
Optional reward: Amateur’s Headgear, Amateur’s Kurta, Amateur’s Smithing Gloves
Level 15 – Practical Needs
Requires: 1 Cotton Scarf, 1 Cotton Shepherd’s Slops
Cotton Scarf components: 1 Wind Shard, 1 Lightning Shard, 2 Undyed Cotton Cloth, 1 Cotton Yarn
Cotton Shepherd’s Slops components: 1 Wind Shard, 1 Lightning Shard, 1 Undyed Hempen Cloth, 2 Undyed Cotton Cloth, 1 Cotton Yarn
Reward: Recruit’s Spinning Wheel
Optional reward: Hempen Doublet Vest of Crafting, Hard Leather Merchant’s Pouch, Ash Pattens
Level 20 – Materia Concerns
Requires: 1 Cotton Acton (melded with 1 materia)
Cotton Acton components: 1 Wins Shard, 1 Lightning Shard, 2 Undyed Cotton Cloth, 1 Cotton Yarn, 1 Dodo Feather
Reward: Brass Needle
Optional reward: Initiate’s Headgear, Initiate’s Gloves, Cotton Breeches of Crafting
Level 25 – That Velveteen Dress
Requires: 1 Undyed Velveteen (HQ)
Undyed Velveteen components: 2 Lightning Shard, 1 Cotton Yarn, 1 Dew Thread
Reward: 1 Elm Spinning Wheel
Optional reward: Silver Magnifiers, Initiate’s Gown, Velveteen Halfgloves
Level 30 – Miner on a Mission
Requires: Velveteen Gaiters (HQ)
Velveteen Gaiters components: 2 Wind Shard, 3 Lightning Shard, 1 Silver Ingot, 1 Undyed Cotton Cloth, 1 Undyed Velveteen, 1 Rubber
Reward: Silver Needle
Optional reward: Velveteen Beret, Velveteen Gown, Velveteen Shortgloves
Level 35 – Designed by Commitee
Requires: 1 Linen Shirt (HQ)
Linen Shirt components: 3 Wind Shard, 4 Lightning Shard, 2 Aldgoat Leather, 1 Undyed Linen, 1 Linen Yarn
Reward: Worm Fang Needle
Optional reward: Mythril Magnifiers, Apprentice’s Smock, Linen Halfgloves
Level 40 – A Subtle Inquiry
Requires: Woolen Tights (HQ)
Woolen Tights components: 4 Wind Shard, 5 Lightning Shard, 2 Undyed Woolen Cloth, 1 Woolen Yarn
Reward: Apprentice’s Spinning Wheel
Optional reward: Linen Deerstalker, Linen Smock, Boarskin Smithy’s Gloves
Level 45 – The Intervention
Requires: Woolen Beret (HQ), Woolen Gown (HQ), Woolen Gaskins (HQ)
Woolen Beret components: 5 Wind Shard, 5 Lightning Shard, 1 Undyed Woolen Cloth, 1 Woolen Yarn, 1 Apkallu Down, 1 Chocobo Feather
Woolen Gown components: 5 Wind Shard, 5 Lightning Shard, 1 Mythril Ingot, 1 Undyed Linen, 2 Undyed Woolen Cloth, 1 Woolen Yarn
Woolen Gaskins components: 5 Wind Shard, 5 Lightning Shard, 2 Toad Leather, 1 Undyed Woolen Cloth, 1 Dew Thread
Reward: Thousand Needle

Level 50 – A Miner Reborn
