During the month of November, McDonald’s will be adding Pokemon toys to Happy Meals. The company will also be giving out a special mystical Pokemon named Hoopa via the Nintendo Zone.

Hoopa is not included in the Pokemon games, and can only be obtained through the Nintendo Zone at participating McDonald’s locations from November 27th until December 23rd.

The Toys!

Although Hoopa is the main attraction of the event, McDonald’s is including eight Pokemon figurines within the Happy Meals including:

  • Pikachu
  • Primal Groudon
  • Primal Kyogre
  • Lugia
  • Rayquaza
  • Mega Latios
  • Wobbuffet
  • Hoopa

Included with the figurines are one of twelve Pokemon TCG cards.

Hoopa!

It’s known that Hoopa will work in both Pokemon X and Y as well as Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Although, players should note that the evolved form of Hoopa, called Hoopa Unbound, can only be obtained in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire by using a Prison Bottle.

Using the Nintendo Zone

To obtain Hoopa through the Nintendo Zone, there are a few steps must be taken. The steps include:

  • Connect Nintendo 3DS system to the Nintendo Zone
  • Select “MYSTERY GIFT”
  • Select “RECEIVE GIFT” and then “YES”
  • Select “GET VIA INTERNET” and then “YES”
  • Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokemon Center to receive Hoopa
  • Save game

Is it worth the trip?

The stats for Hoopa are:

  • Hoopa
  • Level 50
  • Ability: Magician
  • Moves: Hyperspace Hole, Psychic, Astonish, Nasty Plot

While it may seem like a waste of time to go to McDonald’s and get the limited edition Pokemon, Hoopa has a special move that it can learn called Hyperspace Hole. It’s your decision whether the trip is worth the time; but if you really want to “Catch them all” you’ll have to make it there between November 27th and December 23rd.
