GameSkinny has always been a community site. Our goal has always been to give gamers a place to write what they are excited about and give them an audience. GameSkinny is an alternative to working alone on your own blog and hoping that you can build an audience. Because let’s face it, obscurity sucks.
Bounty Unleashed
GameSkinny is moving that goal forward in a big way. We are paying you to write on GameSkinny. We call it Bounty and it pays $0.50 USD per 1000 views after promotion to the front page.
There are other sites you can write for, but they all either don’t pay, have a cumbersome application process or you have to pitch first then wait for someone to get back to you. GameSkinny doesn’t do any of that. We wanted something simple that just gets you writing and earning immediately.
This doesn’t mean that everything gets promoted. Your articles still go through our editors, but instead of interviewing you before hand we let you prove you can write by actually writing.
Your content goes into the lobby, and if it isn’t up to snuff, we will help you improve it. If the article does get promoted, then it is eligible for the Bounty program.

How do I get invited?
We are right now sending sets of 3 invite codes to waves of random active GameSkinny members. One for you and 2 to give away. So if you have not gotten one yet, make sure you are a GameSkinny member and cozy up to any friends you have on the site or post on the forums.
Our editors and staff also have some codes to give away so you can ask nicely and they may have one for you. Stephen and I will be at PAX East, find us, we will have some too.
Final Thoughts
If you’re good enough, smart enough and research well, then people will like your writing and you will make money. So the question is not why you shouldn’t write for GameSkinny, it is why you aren’t writing already?
