BAFTA Video Game Nominations Dominated by The Last of Us, GTA V

The nominations for the 2014 BAFTA Games Awards have been revealed, with The Last of Us and Grand Theft Auto 5 at the top.

With awards season now in full swing, BAFTA has revealed their nominations for the 2014 British Academy Games Awards.

To the surprise of no one, The Last of Us leads with a whopping 10 nominations. The game is up for both 'Best Game' and 'Story' against Grand Theft Auto 5, which scored 9 nominations of its own. Also at the top of the list is Media Molecule's Tearaway, which made away with 8 nominations.

A total 43 games were nominated across the award show's 17 categories, including Tomb Raider, Bioshock: Infinite, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and Gone Home.

The BAFTA Games Awards will take place in London on March 12th. This is the first year the awards will be open to the public and those interested in attending can purchase tickets at BAFTA's website. For those of us who can’t attend, the awards will also stream live on Twitch.

I truly find it astounding that GTA V is nominated for best story, what are these people thinking?

The story was great. In fact, there were three intertwining stories that were eons better than most plots we find in video games these days.
