The Oculus Rift has been nominated for an award in the Dragon Slayer Awards. The Rift was entered into the Best Gaming Innovation category, against some pretty stiff competition. Now until September 2nd, you can vote for your choices in the Dragon Slayer Awards within this and other categories.
The Oculus Rift, for those who don’t know, is a very immersive virtual reality headset. The headset uses a 110 degree field of vision and very low latency sensors. It has not been released to the public yet, but this piece of hardware shows amazing promise. Due to its design, it is planned to be cheaper than other companies’ versions of the device. Cheaper is great, since it will allow more integration into the gaming community.
The possibilities associated with this device are endless. This is the first new step to really enter games and experience them first hand. I am really excited to see how this technology develops over time.
