Check these top 5 mods for Fallout 4 on Xbox One to broaden your game!

Mods have always been a big part of Bethesda games and Fallout 4 is no different. What is different, however, is that they are now available for consoles as well. These significantly change the game and offer brand new ways to explore the wasteland.

Want to build special items? There's a mod for that. Want to build your very own vault? There's a mod for that too. How about wielding your own lightsaber? Well, it has to be called a lazer saber, but you can still do it!

Not every mod can be made for both PC and console, so I put together this list of my top 5 Fallout 4 mods available for Xbox One. If you need help getting started, check my guide on How to install Fallout 4 Mods on Xbox One.

#5 - Everyone's Best Friend

This mod lets you use Dogmeat at the same time as another companion. The creator explains how Dogmeat may not be a true companion and was originally intended to be used alongside another companion.

Certain companion perks don't work with Dogmeat and perhaps the biggest piece of evidence is that the Lone Wanderer perk still works if you have Dogmeat with you.

Not that any of these really matters since it is a mod and won't affect the normal game, but I thought background on the creator and reasoning behind this particular mod would be interesting.

#4 Weapon + Ammo Crafting

This mod lets you do more than just craft weapons and ammo, you can also craft legendary items, armor, clothes, and special DLC items. You can still use this mod if you don't have the DLCs, you just want be able to craft those items.

You will be able to craft nearly every weapon available in the base game with this mod, but my favorite part is crafting legendary items.

You can even swap legendary effects from a weapon you already have and out it on another weapon you like.

#3 Build your own Vault

Ever since I heard about settlements I immediately wanted to build my own vault. With this mod, my dreams became reality.

Before you can start the Vault building, you must build a concrete frame and elevator, which will show up in the "Special" section. After you go in, you can select the new vault segments in the "Structure" section.

You'll have many things to choose from and when you're done, you can even assign settlers to the vault. You can do this my assigning them to the elevator while in workshop mode.

The next part is extremely important.

  • If you want to disable or uninstall the mod, make sure you use the elevator to get out of the the vault first.
  • If you do not do this, your structures menu will disappear forever and there will be no way to get it back.

#2 Cheat Menu (Portable Holotape Menu)

For times when you just want to do what you want, nothing beats a cheat menu. This mod puts a holotape outside Vault 111 that gives you a range of cheats including giving yourself caps, ammo, crafting materials, and more.

You can unlock all perks to try things out, or just because. Sometimes you just want to see how the game is with no limits, or unlock things when you don't have the time in the game that you'd like.

The best part about the cheat menu is that you can control what you get so you can just a few things to help you if you want, instead of unlocking all the cheats at once.

The Xbox One version may have some issues, like God Mode not working, so keep that in mind when using this mod.

#1 Fallout 4 Lazer Sabers

No game with mods is complete without adding in lightsabers. This mod adds several colors of "lazer sabers" to the game so you can live out your fantasies of being a Jedi or Sith in the post-apocalyptic Fallout universe.

It may not be as useful or game changing as some of the other mods, but nothing beats running around any game with a lightsaber.

That's it for my top 5 Fallout 4 mods for Xbox One. Let me know what you think and any mods that you like that weren't on the list.
