Call of Duty: Advance Warfare's Story - "Over 2 1/2 Years to Write"

Call of Duty's newest installment will feature a detailed, well planned story.

Call of Duty, similar to Madden or other long-time gaming series, has seen many installments over the years. Many people, especially those who mainly just use the online PVP part of the game, see each new one as simply adding better graphics, bigger and badder weaponry, and a few new features here and there along the way. Many people are buying the games to keep up on the current, competitive state of the game. That said, Call of Duty: Advance Warfare has been worked on single player for almost three years.

Long time in the works

Glen Schofield, the co-founder of Sledgehammer Games, tweeted that "the story alone has taken over 2 1/2 years to write." Activision, Schofield and all others involved in the making of this game are not looking for the status quo, they are not looking for simple additions or updates to the game: they want to go big.

The story takes place in the year 2054 and popular actor Kevin Spaceyis slated to play a prominent role in the game. Gamespot even pointed out that we'd be likely to see Spacey playing the game in his other work, the fantastic House of Cards Netflix original series, where his character likes to relieve stress by playing PS4 FPS games.
