As you participate in the community at GameSkinny, and in particular as you write and create great content, you receive points. The more points you receive, the higher your level. In the same way, as your great content gets promoted and featured on the site, you can also unlock new titles to display.
Why did GameSkinny add levels?
Our mission at GameSkinny is to build a site for budding writers and game journalists to improve their craft. The best way to improve at any craft is through practice and repetition, but practice often feels like a grind. You may not always see that you’re improving, and that can be a drag.
Levelling helps you to see and track your progress a little more clearly. And we’ll be honest, levels and titles also give us a fun way to reward you for coming back and spending time with us.
How do I level up?
Write, comment, vote, and participate. The quickest and most effective way to get points is to create great content on GameSkinny – you get points when your post is promoted. Beyond that, commenting on other posts will award points. Following people and things also awards points. Finally, voting in polls awards a single point per vote.

What’s the level cap?
The highest level you can achieve right now is level 90. Good luck and happy levelling!

What titles can I earn?
Writing on GameSkinny can earn you several tiers of titles:
– With 1 promoted post, you become a Contributor.
– With 10 promoted posts, you become a Correspondent.
– With 50 promoted posts, you become a Columnist.
When you reach the same minimum number of featured posts, you can also earn the separate Featured title prefix. A Featured Contributor has at least one post that’s been featured, a Featured Correspondent has at least 10 posts featured, and a Featured Columnist has at least 50 posts featured.

Can I display different titles?
You can choose to display any title you’ve earned from your Edit Profile screen. Choose your preferred title and then click Update Your Profile.
