Gigantic will be delayed to 2016 due to player feedback.

Motiga, developer of Gigantic, released a studio update today stating the current status of the PC/Xbox One MOBA. After much feedback from player testing, the studio believes that it will be best to move the launch window of Gigantic to 2016. Unfortunately, with this decision, the young studio had to lay off 16 employees. Resources are finite for Motiga and will have to be stretched with the expanded launch window. Thankfully, all employees will be receiving severances and job placement assistance.

“Saying goodbye to these dear friends and talented colleagues is painful, but we remain committed to delivering Gigantic at the highest possible quality.”

– Chris Chung, CEO of Motiga

Gigantic was announced for PC in 2014, and for Xbox One earlier this year. When it finally is released, Gigantic will try to break from shadows of Dota 2 and League of Legends by changing traditional mechanics. The game will feature moving, living objectives instead of static placeholders.
