Borderlands 2 Heads to Vita on March 18?
For a minute there, we really thought we had the finalized launch date.
A couple of 2K's Twitter sites (@2KGermany and @2KInternational) apparently confirmed the launch date for the PlayStation Vita version of Borderlands 2. Then, as Duuro found out, those Tweets mysteriously disappeared.
Those Tweets informed excited Vita owners that the award-winning shooter would release on March 18, presumably in Germany and the rest of Europe. That would allow US gamers to assume that mid-March is the expected release window. Now, though, it's hard to say for sure. Maybe the publisher just wasn't ready to hand out the date. Maybe they're penning an official press release right now. Maybe it was just a mistake.
These kinds of things happen with social media. The people in charge aren't always privy to the latest information, nor do they always heed instructions. We've seen lots of news leaks at places like Facebook and Twitter, from company representatives who just didn't know to stay quiet.
That could be what happened here. Either way, I'm hoping March 18 is accurate, because I really want to see what Borderlands 2 is like on the Vita.
You know, they're STILL supporting this game
Developer Gearbox has been producing extra content for this title for a while. Don't forget that it launched back in 2012, not 2013. Most game makers plan on DLC, but few plan to create that extra content for years to come. Gearbox is just one of those developers that loves to make bonus content and you know, the fans don't seem to mind.
