If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at fashion design, now’s your chance! The latest game in the Style Savvy series, Style Savvy: Fashion Forward, goes on sale on August 19th, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

Fashion Forward allows you to work in a number of professions within the fashion industry – Boutique Manager, Hair Stylist, Make-up Artist, Designer, and Model – with each role providing unique gameplay throughout. You can focus on any one area to become an expert in that field, or enjoy dipping in and out of every role as you wish.

You’ll start the game as a young, up-and-coming fashionista, newly arrived in the trendy Beaumonde City. After being welcomed to your new home town by another local designer and given the chance to fully customise your character’s appearance, you can start exploring the city and getting to know its residents. They will become your clientele over time, and the more you talk with them, the better you get to know their individual styles. Building up a rapport with customers means they’ll return to your store more and more in the future!

The game makes use of Nintendo’s popular StreetPass feature, by allowing you to showcase your creations and share your designs with others. StreetPass also gives you the opportunity to share your personalised dollhouse, which you can build and add items and showrooms to as you work your way through the game. As long as you have a Wi-Fi connection, you can also visit your friends’ shops to exchange designs and enter Miiverse contests, or simply explore.

Fashion Forward is compatible with a variety of amiibo figures, including popular characters Mario, Zelda, and Kirby. Each of the characters will provide an exclusive clothing item or fashion accessory related to their character, that you cannot get anywhere else in the game. So if you collect the amiibo figures, it’s worth using them to add another fun element to the game.

You can even customise your 3DS with the Style Savvy: My Room Theme, available now for purchase in the Nintendo 3DS Theme Shop for just $2.89 (£1.79).

This is a great game for young and old alike, providing a wide variety of gameplay techniques and fun activities throughout, allowing you to get in touch with your creative side, while learning a little about how things work in the fashion industry. If you’d like to give the game a trial play before purchasing, there is a free demo available for download in the Nintendo eShop.

Style Savvy: Fashion Forward will be available in stores, online and in the Nintendo eShop, for Nintendo 3DS, on August 19th 2016; RRP $29.99 (£34.99).

Stay-at-home geeky mama that's been gaming since early childhood! I wanted to be Lara Croft when I grew up, but writing about video games seemed a little more realistic ;) I love action/adventure and horror games especially, and have a fondness for scouting out indie developers to see what treasures they have to offer the gaming world.
