The short animated films for Blizzard’s Overwatch have been absolutely superb thus far. Well-acted and full of animation on par with a Pixar film, these shorts have provided a wonderful layer of backstory and mythology to the mysterious world of Overwatch‘s story.

In the final film, released to day at launch with the full Overwatch game, one of the base characters, Soldier 76, gets his time to shine when he rescues a little girl who ran afoul of some gangsters who stole her grocery money. Heart-warming and genuinely cool, this last short has me more excited than I already was to tackle Overwatch this week with my buddies online.
