5 Things That Would Make Batman: Arkham Knight Fail Completely

Batman fans everywhere are hoping for another masterpiece by Rocksteady studios. Here are 5 pitfalls to avoid on the way to making the most legendary Batman game yet!

Previous iterations of the Arkham franchise have been regarded as not only the best licensed/ comic book games, but the most ambitious action-adventure beat'em ups to ever grace our consoles. With the fairly recent unveiling of Rocksteady's first dabble into new gen, Batman:Arkham Knight, here are some requests to help make this entry the best one in the legendary series.

Ignoring the Riddler... again. I believe this eccentric villain is one of the most underrated gems in the Batman universe. He's enigmatic, calculating, and unbelievably creative. Hell, even in Batman Forever, we got an energetic Jim Carrey breathing life into a character that always seems to take a back seat to the likes of the Joker or Two Face in Batman media. It still boggles my mind how unused this brilliant puzzle creator is. Fortunately, with the new Batman game just around the corner, maybe he will finally get some of the spot light he deserves  instead of simple trophies and enigma riddles.

Making the Batmobile an invincible 'get out of jail free card.' Kudos on the great decision by Rocksteady to finally factor in the Batmobile for roaming the streets and getting drooled at by fans. However, it would be a real shame if the caped crusaders ride ends up robbing the player of actual hand to hand combat because of the vehicle's god-like performance against dispersing goons on the streets. Use it for only practical reasons and above all, just make me feel like a kid watching Tim Burton's Batman when inside the fabulous machine.

Fail to give Alfred a more pivotal role in gameplay mechanics. Alfred is superstar in his own right, perhaps the greatest assistant who ever lived, so with all his considerate amount of knowledge, suave persona, and close relationship with Batman, wouldn't he be more involved in the fight? I'm not saying it has to be on the same level of Booker and Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite, but it would be a welcome addition for him to occasionally assist you with care packages or other ordinance type related things. In addition, how awesome would it be to have a level in which both the Dark Knight and Alfred kick criminal behind side by side? I could hear the preorders racking up from over a mile away.

Make Gotham a huge, boring wasteland just for driving around. With claims of Arkham Knight's Gotham being over 5 times the size of Arkham City's area, there is no doubt we have here a gigantic sandbox to adventure through. Lets just hope it's not a barren, soulless hub in which side missions are filler and civilians are nowhere to be found, I'm looking at you Arkham Origins. With all this talk of the horse power of Sony and Microsoft's latest consoles, lets see it put to great use with a bustling metropolis, where actual interactions with the people as well as spontaneous crimes exist for our hero to be a part of.

Letting Arkham Knight become a copy-paste Batman. Little is known about the latest character in the Dark Knight's universe other than that it is to be featured in Rocksteady's upcoming game, and that it is being created from scratch in collaboration with DC Entertainment's chief creative officer Geoff Johns. A very good sign to start with, this looks like it's shaping up to be a unique and promising individual to interact with in the game. With a cool but very familiar design, lets wish that Arkham Knight will not know exactly all of Batman's moves, from martial arts to even the same personality. This one's a bit on the conspiracy side I know, buy it would be a waste to see a fine looking character such as this one be made into a clone for Batman to deal with. Arkham Knight is going to be a wonderful game, no doubt, and if these aspects ranging from Alfred's usefulness to Gotham's accessibility are factored in, its going to be an even more amazing title.
