PS4 Users Having Trouble Logging into PSN

It seems many PlayStation 4 owners are having trouble using the Network and Store.

For nearly a full day now, PlayStation 4 users have reported issues with the PlayStation Network.

It seems many can't log in, which means they can't play online or access the Store. Sony has acknowledged the situation on Twitter:

Sony has yet to give us an update, but we're assuming the problem is mostly benign. It could be related to firmware update 1.60, which was released a few days ago. That update enabled support for most surround-sound headsets, including Sony's Pulse and Pulse Elite Edition headsets. It's not uncommon for system patches to cause problems early on during a console's lifespan.

However, there's really no knowing what's causing this particular issue. If you're still having trouble signing in, give Sony a bit more time to figure out what's happening. Hey, play a game offline for a while... remember what that's like?

Ever since the PSN hack...

People always get antsy when there's some sort of issue with the Network. While Sony claims that nearly 95 percent of all users returned to the PlayStation fold after that infamous 2011 hack, it's always in the back of our minds. Consumers don't forget such things quickly, especially when their personal information is at risk. Still, it's important not to jump to conclusions.

I just got my ps4 today and have been unable to sign in for 7 hours now. Really frustrating as I don't know if my progress will be transferred once I can log into my account.

If you want access to PSN and it's not working on the PS4, we've had success in our household with using the PSN app. It lets you buy and start the download on your PS4 from your mobile phone.
