Create Your Own Video Game at a Library?

Are you an aspiring video game designer?

Yep, that’s right. Boone Country Library Branch in Florence, Kentucky is celebrating National Video Games Day by using Sploder, an online game creator, to build games. According to the event registration on the Boone Country Library page, it is for children in grades 2-5. So if you are in that area, go ahead and take your young padawans there or just take advantage of creating one on your desktop using Sploder. If you do decide to attend the event, it will take place on September 12 from 6:30-7:30 p.m in the library’s meeting room.

Game Night

Also, if you are in that area or know someone in that area, on August 29, Boone County Library is hosting a teen video game night at 6:30 p.m! It will be a game night where high school students can play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

If you ask me that sounds like a pretty sweet and creative idea to bring in more kids and teens to their branch. Do you think libraries in your area should begin doing the same?
