Shigesato Itoi spent over four hours the other day streaming Mother 2/Earthbound for his Japanese fans. I, like many other Mother fans all over the world, tuned in to see Itoi playing through his masterpiece.
If you just happened to miss out, the video from Friday’s stream can be watched above in its four hour and twenty minute glory. It was more exciting with the comment feed, but that should not stop you from checking it out if you happen to be an Earthbound fan. The language barrier shouldn’t be much of a bother if you’ve played the game extensively in the past — though you won’t find much enlightenment from the discussion found in the last hour of the video.
Those of you itching for an English Virtual Console release are still out of luck, as there has been no announcement on Earthbound making its way to Western Virtual Consoles (though Japan’s Mother 2 VC release went off without a hitch).
