3 Fun & Unique Game Types in Minecraft

I share with you the top 3 server types I enjoy playing in Minecraft!

Minecraft is much more than a blocky game where you can dig tunnels and build houses. Anyone with just a tiny bit of coding knowledge and a huge drive of interest and motivation can create their own server and add their own code pieces to it to make their server stand out and be unique among the thousands currently existing. You don’t have to be a genius to do this as you would be creating your “own” game on top of an already existing one. There are also tons of tutorials and a great community to learn from.

As I’m personally a huge fan of Minecraft and play it on a daily basis, I have played most types of games in Minecraft there are to play and today I would like to share with you my three favorite ones and why I love them so much. Some of these game types in Minecraft are inspired by movies, games, and books – you might recognize some which obviously makes it a bit more interesting.

The Hunger Games

Most of you have probably seen the movie and some of you have most likely also read the novel. Shortly after The Hunger Games movie was released a couple of Minecraft fans put their bright heads together and created a gamemode of it in Minecraft.

When playing on a Hunger Games server your main goal is to stay alive as long as possible. As in the movie you spawn in a world together with about 20 other players and as soon as the countdown is down at zero the game begins and you have to start collect gear and other necessities to survive.

It’s possible to team up with other players but you can never know for sure what their true intentions are as there is always a possibility they might stab you in the back as soon you don’t pay attention to them. That is what makes Hunger Games in Minecraft a very intense and fun type of game as you never get bored and you always have to keep on your toes.

MineZ

This gamemode is originally inspired by another mod called DayZ for Arma II. In DayZ you have to survive a zombie apocalypse by scavenging for food and looking for weapons to defend yourself with. MineZ is practically the same except it’s in Minecraft and is slightly less scary because of the graphics.

Even though this MineZ is a really fun type of server to play in Minecraft it actually shares some similarities with Hunger Games as I earlier wrote about. You can never really trust someone and you never know what might be hiding in the woods or anywhere else you might be traveling.

If you are interested in learning more about what MineZ is and how it can be played, you should go to the official MineZ server.

Skyblock

In Skyblock servers, you usually start out on a floating island all alone. The resources are usually very limited but it all depends on what map the server is currently running. Sometimes you might need to harvest for food and such yourself while at other times there can be a chest at spawn with food and other necessities you need to survive for a while until you can support your life on your own on your floating island.

I think this can be a lot of fun and you don’t have to play with others to have fun. It’s easy to play and there are different level of difficulties to suit everybody no matter how good or bad you are at playing Minecraft.
