Before We Begin…

Lester Crest (GTAV)

Good ol’ creepy Lester is back and has decided to show you and a teammate the ropes of doing a big heist. Now, in order to run a heist at all, you’re going need two things:

  • A high end apartment that will run you about $400k+. This nice place will give you access to the heist room where you can plan all your dasterdly deeds.
  • You’ll also need $11,500 to cover the cost of your escape route and a few other little gimmicks.

As I’ve said in my previous article about GTA V heists, there are two parts to every heist; the set-up and the heist itself. For this job, there are only two set-up missions; scoping the place out and stealing the fast Karuma.

First Set-up Mission: Scoping out the Bank

Your first set-up mission is riding along with Lester and your fellow heister to the Fleeca bank on the Coastal Highway. There are two roles for this mission, the driver and the hacker. Keep in mind that if you start as the driver, it may be a good idea to stay as the driver for the entire heist. Because after Lester describes what the job is and you’re on your way back to your hideout, he will ask the passenger of the car to do a practice hack via his or her cell phone.

The hacking mini-game is kind of like a game of Snake, where you’ll have to guide a line through obstacles without touching any of the walls. The practice hack and the real hack will require you to do this three times each. The faster you do it, the less time you have to spend parked outside of the bank with guns strapped to your chest.

Second Set-up Mission: Stealing the Karuma

The next set-up mission is securing yourself a getaway vehicle – the Karuma. This is a high speed four-door car, fitted with armored windows and bulletproof tires. The fun thing about this mission is that you and your teammate will have to go steal it from a group of Korean gang members.

The Karuma can be found on top of a parking garage in West Vinewood, guarded by a number of armed foes. It’s best to go there with your teammate and go separate ways from there. One person goes up on one side of the garage, and the other goes up on the opposite end. This way you can converge on the gang from both sides and clear them out faster. After you’ve taken out all the enemies on the roof, its time to drive the Karuma.

Someone will need to drive and the other will need to defend. The driver’s goal is to get the car back to your hideout and keep the Karuma as scratch–free as possible; the more damage to the car, the less points you’ll get. The passenger has to defend from all the enemies that will pursue you for stealing the car. It’s good to note that while inside the Karuma, you can not shoot out of all windows and angles because of the armor on the windows. Focus on where you can shoot out so you can best keep the foes off of your car.

Time for the Heist

It is now the day of the heist and let’s admit it, your palms are very sweaty. Before this heist begins, the heist leader (the one who put the money up front in the beginning) will have to deal out the jobs to the two-man team; one driver, one hacker. Split the money fifty-fifty, or give a little bit more to one person, the choice is yours.

After that, get to the Karuma and the driver will head over to the Fleeca bank. While the driver…well, drives, the hacker will have to go through that same mini-game so they can easily get into the vault. Once that’s done, it’s time to storm the bank.

The both of you will have to go in, but you both won’t be going into the vault. The drivers job is to shoot out the security cameras and keep the people inside the bank from trying to be a hero. Fun tip for this is that you can shout into the microphone to keep them intimidated.

While the driver handles the civilians, the hacker will need to go to the vault and access the specific safe deposit box that you’ve come here for. You’ll then pull out a drill, which Lester provides for you, and start drilling into the box. Go slowly, because the drill can overheat and you’ll have to start the drill back up all over again.

Once the box is empty, it’s time for the driver to do what they were paid to do; drive. An endless wave of cops will come down on you both, and you have to drive your way past them to make it to a helicopter that will take you away in the finest of fashions.

And that’s it! You’ve succesfully completed the Fleeca Job and made yourself a good bit of money.

You’re happy with what you have, right? No? Well, I didn’t think so, but don’t worry, there are four more heists out there that will give you an even bigger payout.
