Popular Generation 1 Pokemon Evolve Again in Pokemon's Newest Installment

An announcement today, via Nintendo Direct, broke the news that the starter Pokémon from Pokémon Red and Blue are coming back to Pokémon X & Y. Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle will return for the newest Pokémon adventure.

The biggest news is their most evolved forms (Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise) can be Mega evolved. Their names don’t change but their physical appearance will (as pictured above). The evolved forms will have advanced special attacks and abilities specific to each character.
