Micromon Tips: How to Get Vaithe

Check this guide for the locations of each Chip Fragment and how to catch Vaithe.

Vaithe is the last Micromon you fight in the game. Did you know you can actually “catch” him though? That’s right, you can be a proud owner of the powerhouse that caused so many problems. The best part is you don’t need to spend any diamonds or real money to do it! I’ll show you how to get it.

The Four Chip Fragments

After finishing the game, the first thing you need to do is collect all 4 chip fragments. You get two of these during the story. They tell of what happened in Growtown years ago. You must find the other 2, but I’ll tell you where they are.

Aera Floating Island

The 3rd fragment is in the Aera region.

  • You find it in an underground cave directly outside the entrance to the city.
  • The map is called, Floating Peninsula 4.

  • If you fast travel to the Aera city, go south and take that exit. You’ll be on the right map as soon as you leave.
  • You can see the hole you must enter directly to the right of the screen at the entrance to the city. Just go in to get the chip fragment.
Mineralia Highlands

The last fragment is in the Mineralia region.

  • You need a Petrarak to get this fragment.
  • You can either evolve a Petra, or catch one in the wild.
  • To catch one, south of the city two maps to Highlands South. The below picture shows where to catch one.

  • Once you have Petrarak in your party, go to Highlands West, left one map from where you caught Petrarak, and talk to the guy that lost his Petrarak. The picture below shows exactly who it is.

  • He gives you the fragment after you give him your Petrarak.

Catching Vaithe

After you have all 4 fragments, go back to the desert area.

  • To get there, go north from Mineralia City into the cave.
  • Follow the path until you reach the exit and you’ll be in the desert.
  • Go north until you see Vaithe, then fight him.

You DO NOT use a capture chip to catch Vaithe. Just defeat him and he’s yours.

Vaithe isn’t hard, I beat him with a level 57 Findoran, the last form of the water starter.

  • Vaithe is level 77, can use an attack of every element except Wind, and has no weakness.
  • It uses Power Ray, a very strong normal damage attack. He must rest after using this. Use this time to hit him with your strongest attacks.
  • Make sure you bring some revives, potions, and ethers just in case.

That’s how you get Vaithe. Be sure to check out my guide on How to pick starters for Micromon for help with that and an explanation on the elemental types in the game.
