AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Shuffles onto Mobile with New Game

Survive against the constant threat of "walkers" in "The Walking Dead: No Man's Land" mobile game

Just in time for San Diego Comic Con International, AMC and Next Games released a trailer announcing a mobile game based on AMC’s show, The Walking Dead. The trailer, released yesterday, is a scene of desperate but determined people hiding from the undead awaiting them outside. Exactly enough to entice both gamers and fans of the show to get excited for the game, titled The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land

In the official press release, Next Games CEO, Teemu Huuhtanen, gave an idea of what the game will include:

“Our approach is to stay true to the main themes of the TV show: survival strategy, finding safety for your people, balancing between right and wrong and, of course, action when it comes to fighting against the hordes of walkers. We respect the creators of The Walking Dead immensely and want this game to portray the world they have created as closely as possible.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how the company translates these important aspects into a mobile game. The fact that Next Games is so intent on accurately depicting the driving forces of The Walking Dead, is commendable.

According to the press release, The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land will come out sometime around the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead‘s 5th season, which is in early 2015. The game will release for smartphones and tablet devices.
