Destiny Nominated for Best New Game on the Horizon – Dragon Slayer Awards 2014

There's a reason (or two) that Destiny has been nominated for Best New Game on the Horizon for this year's Dragon Slayer Awards.

The Dragon Slayer Awards have entered their last phase, which means it’s time for you to choose the final winners in each category. Destiny has reached the final stage for Best New Game on the Horizon, and I’m going to tell you why.

If you didn’t know already, Destiny is sort of a big deal. It’s Bungie’s first person shooter massively multiplayer online role playing game (FPSMMORPG for short), and it’s currently slated to be a console exclusive. An MMO… on console. And it runs at 1080p–yes, even the Xbox One.

As horribly terrifying as “an MMO on console” probably sounds to the MMO veterans of the world, Destiny has not yet disappointed. Having been played already in Alpha and Beta forms, the game has been incredibly received. Well, it’s not that incredible, given all of the hype surrounding the game.

Speaking of hype, this game’s got a lot of it. Other than being featured numerous times on GameSkinny by the likes of Fathoms_4209 and others, Destiny has garnered numerous pre-release awards in the time since it went under the code name Project Tiger

Also, it’s been referred to countless times as “the future of gaming.” How does the competition stand a chance?

So if you think this game is deserving of all of the hype it’s getting, go ahead and vote for it on the Dragon Slayer Awards voting page. And while you’re at it, just vote in all of the other categories, too.

Also, check out this game’s competition in the Best New Game on the Horizon at GameSkinny’s landing page. An informed electorate makes for a deserving winner.
