Hey there! We’re so excited that you’ll be joining us for the GameSkinny Atlanta Pokemon Go Crawl! From 6 pm – 1 a.m., on Wednesday, July 20th (tomorrow), Trainers will gather together at Decatur Square for a night of Pokeballs and Brews. Please take a moment to read this article, as it will tell you everything you need to know to get checked in and have a great time.
Express Check-In
We’re expecting more than 450 people at this event, and nothing can sour the mood more than standing in line to register in the hot sun. Take advantage of our express check-in by filling out this form: http://goo.gl/forms/UcBAXWX6yb1sidoD2. Not only will it allow you to walk up to a staff member and get your wristband, you’ll also be automatically registered to win some of our great prizes throughout the evening.
When You Get to the Event
You’ll want to find a GameSkinny or GamerLaunch staff member. They’ll be easy to spot because they will be in shirts with one of these logos. Also, they will have a ton of red, blue and yellow wristbands in their hands.
Please make sure you register using the link above BEFORE you come to the event! We want to get you your wristband and started on the route as soon as possible. If you don’t register, you won’t be eligible for the sweet prizes we have to giveaway over the course of the evening or any of the participating bar specials.
Participating Bars
Check out our route list below! Some bars will have specials for Pokemon Go Crawlers, and all of them have great food. For those who don’t drink, Butter & Cream is offering 20% off your purchase from 6 – 11 p.m. Yum!
A GameSkinny or GamerLaunch staff member will be leading the parade from bar to bar, but for those who may come late, here’s a a map of the route. (Note: Victory Sandwich Bar “D” and The S.O.S. Tiki Bar “H” are right next to each other.)
Swag and Giveaways
Over the course of the night, we’ll be giving away lots of prizes! Make sure you provide a valid email address, so we can notify you right away! In order to claim your prize, you must be present at the time of announcement with wristband in tact. We’ll have 3 giveaways scheduled at 7:30 pm, 9 pm, and 11:15 pm, so you don’t have to worry about checking your email every five seconds.
We’ll be giving away two RAVPower 20100mAh External Battery at the crawl (one for iOS and one for Android). We’ll fully charge it prior to the event to make sure you can take advantage of it.
Kickapoo Joy Juice is a unique citrus soft drink with an extra kick of caffeine–now available in a variety of flavors. They will be handing out swag to the early birds, sample cans throughout the event, and will be giving away prizes to three lucky winners!
Please Keep in Mind
We want this to be a fun, enjoyable and safe event for everyone, so please keep the following in mind:
- Stay hydrated and eat. Nothing can kill a bar crawl faster than dehydration of being overly intoxicated. Pace yourself and drink water!
- Don’t be an asshole. As we said, more than 400 people will be in Decatur Square at once. The bars will probably be running a bit slower, so be patient and collect Pokemon while you wait for your beverage. You will get your wristband revoked if staff members see you giving bar staff a hard time.
- Be respectful of people and property. No one likes a party pooper.
- Drive Safely. You want to catch Pokemon, not a DUI. Take advantage of Marta, Lyft, Uber or a cab to handle transporation for the evening.
