More Terraria 1.2 Info Hits Twitch Stream – New Event, NPCs, and Items Confirmed

Terraria 1.2 is almost upon us: the mega-update is scheduled to see a release sometime this month. Redigit is hard at work getting as much content into the patch as possible, but he had some time last night to visit one lucky Twitch streamer. Information was dropped, good times were had, and multiple Snoop Dogg .gifs were given a work out.

KeepRagin’s stream video can be seen in the header above, but because many Terraria 1.2 spoilers were pumped into the stream chat and the 4 hour duration of the video it’s just easier to list those that have been shared elsewhere here.

And now.. the bullet list!

• New events being added – Rain event confirmed to include new music and walking goldfish with a pimp walk. Screenshot of rain (and new NPC) seen at bottom of this list.
• 8 new NPCs have been added so far. One of these additions, Jake, can be seen in the rainy image below.
• An item is being added to add or remove corruption and hallow.
• The release will be sometime between the next 20 and 60 days, as confirmed by Cenx.
• Redigit stated that around 20 vanity items, over 10 new wings; and new weapons such as the beegun, beenade, and piranha gun have already been developed.
• A rope is being added to the game to allow players to get in and out of hell-deep holes easily.
• Orb of Light has been replaced with Shadow Orb.
• Redigit is working on making the game forward its own ports to avoid connectivity issues.
• 5 or 6 new bosses are in the works, one of which being named Yri.
• Several new music tracks are being added to Terraria 1.2.
• Redigit seems to be thinking about adding new statues.
• He also seems to intend to release small patches after the 1.2 release, though he will be taking a vacation shortly after the coming release. Post-1.2 updates may simply be bugfixes.
