The game will also feature online multiplayer co-op.

It is being developed by indie newcomers Batterystaple Games. The company was founded on July 1, 2013. Being huge fans of Megaman they set out to reimagine the series with procedural levels, roguelike gameplay, and online multiplayer.

For those unfamiliar with the roguelike genre, it a sub-genre in role-playing games in which levels are usually procedurally generated and you get only one shot to beat the game, meaning permadeath. When you die, you start again from the beginning. Other popular games in the genre include Spelunky, The Binding of Isaac, Nethack, and Don’t Starve.

20XX is available on steam under early access. You may purchase the game for $11.99.
