Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam was annoucned awhile back as a crossover between Paper Mario and Mario and Luigi. The paper universe characters have been released from the famous book shown in every Paper Mario game and are running amok.

As of now, the game has been given a 2016 release date but we’ll know more as time moves along towards next year.

The game will support amiibo, which will allow players to gain special support cards to battle foes and defeat bosses. These special cards and their abilities are currently unknown, but will likely relate to the amiibo you activate.

Currently the amiibo that are supported are the Mario series amiibo which are:

  • Mario
  • Luigi
  • Peach
  • Bowser
  • Yoshi
  • Toad
  • Dr. Mario
  • 8-bit Mario
  • Yarn Yoshi

With these amiibo already compatible, would you want to see other amiibo besides the Mario series compatible with the game?
