The Daggerfall Covenant is a faction in Elder Scrolls Online made up of 3 races. These races are Breton, Redguard, and Orc. The Bretons are masters of magic and the Redguards are great physical warriors due to training since birth. The Orcs are fantastic soldiers and armorers that joined into the Daggerfall Covenant via a War Treaty by High King Emeric.
Each race has passive skills that reflect their nature. I’ll go over each skill in detail and give tips/suggestions on play styles they are best suited for.

Daggerfall Covenant Races
Breton
Light Armor Affinity – Gives a 15% experience boost to the Light Armor skill line
- Unlocks – When you create a character. Breton Rank 1.
Gift of Magnus – Increases Max Magicka by 4%.
- Unlocks – Breton Rank 5. There are 3 total ranks of the skill, each rank increases by an extra 3%.
Spell Resistance – Increases Spell Resistance by 2.
- Unlocks – Breton Rank 10. There are 3 total ranks, each increases by an extra 2.
Magicka Mastery – Reduces cost of skills that use Magicka by 1%.
- Unlocks – Breton Rank 25. There are 3 total ranks, each reduces by an extra 1%.
Breton Play styles – Great for anyone using Magicka of any kind heavily.
Redguard
Shield Affinity – Gives a 15% experience boost to the One-Handed and Shield weapon skill line.
- Unlocks – When you create a character. Redguard Rank 1.
Vigor – Increases Stamina Regeneration in combat by 3%.
- Unlocks – Redguard Rank 5. There are 3 total ranks of the skill, each rank increases by an extra 3%.
Conditioning – Increases Maximum Stamina by 4%.
- Unlocks – Redguard Rank 10. There are 3 total ranks, each increases by an extra 3%.
Adrenaline Rush – Restores 1 Stamina when damaging an enemy a melee attack. Can only happen once every 3 seconds.
- Unlocks – Redguard Rank 25. There are 3 total ranks, each increases by an extra 1.
Redguard Play styles – Good for stamina users/tanks. Also, people using one-handed and shield heavily.
Orc
Heavy Armor Expertise – Gives a 15% experience boost to the Heavy Armor skill line
- Unlocks – When you create a character. Orc Rank 1.
Brawny – Increases Maximum Health and Stamina by 2%.
- Unlocks – Orc Rank 5. There are 3 total ranks, each increases by an extra 2%.
Robust – Increases Health Regeneration in combat by 5%.
- Unlocks – Orc Rank 10. There are 3 total ranks of the skill, each rank increases by an extra 5%.
Swift – Decreases Sprint cost by 4% and increases Sprint speed by 3%.
- Unlocks – Orc Rank 25. There are 3 total ranks, each decreases sprint cost by an extra 4% and increases sprint speed by an extra 3%.
Orc Play styles – Good for stamina users/tanks. Also, people using Heavy armor heavily or sprint a lot.
