It seems that the loyal fans of the Metal Gear Solid series are publicly making it known they want Kojima back.

Australian retailer JB Hi-Fi has begun adding Hideo Kojima’s name back on to the MGS V: The Phantom Pain displays in a protest for Konami removing.

Back in July, Kojima’s name was removed from the game’s box art due to internal issues between Kojima and Konami. There hasn’t been any clear evidence or detailed statements about what happened, but rumors tell us the struggle was over money. Konami had a change of management at some point, and the new bosses didn’t like Kojima and the huge budget he needed for MGS V.

Konami’s erratic behavior didn’t stop there. After word got out that Kojima was leaving Konami, they canceled his Silent Hill game titled “Silent Hills” and made a statement saying they’re going to focus on mobile and gambling games.

It seems like MGS V is going to be the last big game Konami makes unless they arrive back in the form. The game is already living to up the hype as IGN and Gamespot both award it a perfect 10 score.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain releases on September 1st. You can see these signs up at JB Hi-Fi Chatswood Westfield, Australia.
