New 3DS released in Animal Crossing Bundle

Get New 3DS only in a bundle, wait another month for the Hylian XL.

The plight of living in North America but loving video games of the East is that there are sometimes limitations or delays on what's available to us. That includes lots and lots of waiting. But finally, we're getting the New 3DS - and there's more in store for us.

The New 3DS just launched September 25, but is currently only available in standard size and can only be purchased as part of an Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer bundle for $219.99.

The bundle itself includes the following:

  • A white New 3DS
  • Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
  • Two cover plates (shown on the New 3DS above)
  • One Amiibo card

If you aren't satisfied with a plain white covers or the green plaid and Isabelle cover plates, Nintendo has also given North American access to 10 other designs, with price tags ranging from $9.99 to $16.99.

Nintendo also mentioned the sale of an NFC Reader/Writer accessory that was released separately. It helps you use your amiibo cards with the game and can be purchased for $19.99.

Those holding out for the New 3DS XL still have to wait a while. It will be a GameStop exclusive Hyrule Gold Edition, complete with Hylian Crest cover. It will release in NA on October 23 for $199.99.
