Elementalist Battering Ram

Since my first Earthmagic-Hammer build in Guild Wars Prophecies all of my caster professions have the tendency of becoming brawling menaces. There just isn’t anything that can replace the joy of an enemy being struck down by a hammer only to find himself falling into uprising stone spikes or a welcoming pool of lava, to welcome incoming warriors with a blinding flash of light and a swing of the axe or snaring the fleeing opponent only to shadowstep towards him and carve your grocery list into his back with your faithful daggers. Naturally I was very happy to see my daggers return to the Elementalist in Guild Wars 2 and immediately started utilizing them and building an armor that would suit such a fighter. Unfortunately the summoned Lightning Hammer has to do until Anet allows me to lay my hands on the real thing. I also found the Destroyer Scepter to be a nice addition to the set for its’ look resembles that of a mace more than that of a magical conductor to me.

Valek Morano searched near and far for the most heavy plated pieces of armor that could protect his precious petals from the intensity his devotion to mêlée combat entails and found them in the hot forges of Sorrows’ Embrace and the ancient craftsmanship of the Disciples of Koda.

After the Karka incident and the following exploration of the Tropical Southsun Resort™(proud property of The Consortium) the local wildlife provided adventurers with an astonishing material made from the shells of dead Karka (The Consortium reassures that no animals were harmed during the process). This provided Valek with the Island Shoulders™ (R&D: The Consortium, Marketing: The Consortium, all rights and credit belong to The Consortium).  “A fashionable and practical accessory for him and her, offering the greatest amount of protection while drawing all eyes towards its’ bearer. Never stay unnoticed with this trendy shoulder-sheltering physical prophylaxis.”(The Consortium Clothing Catalog Nr.2, p.7)

Thanks to his inherent head protection Valeks’ search for a serviceable piece of headgear proved to be as inefficient as it was seemingly unnecessary. After many journeys a Mesmer he befriended provided him with a mask commonly used amongst his fellows to strike fear in the enemies hearts. This, as well as the elegant banner on his back representing his affiliation to [Tyme], made him the striking image of one of the old Canthan generals from the Angsiyan period.

This armor makes Valek a fierce devil on the battlefields, unleashing the fury of the elements onto everyone who dares to challenge him or stands between him and his goal. Victory.
